It can be really difficult to differentiate your short term rental listing. As a former Airbnb super host I used amenities and fixture upgrades, but eventually a light bulb went off: Murals! Holiday renters have to doom scroll through a litany of blah and beige rentals, so to get noticed, my pictures needed to pop. I realized the main goal of my holiday rental was to create an atmosphere, which was much easier to achieve on a budget with a unique mural than with marble countertops and gold faucets.
CHECK OUT THESE AMAZING EXAMPLES OF HOW ONE OF MY CLIENTS UTILIZED THE SAME PHILOSOPHY. BY ADDING A FEW SKY BENSON MURALS TO THEIR SHORT TERM RENTAL INVESTMENT PROPERTY, THEY WERE ABLE TO AFFORDABLE TRANSFORM THE ENVIRONMENT AND DISTINGUISH THEIR RENTAL FROM THE COMPETITION.
Here are a few things I learned from upgrading my short-term rental property with murals:
1. Increased Property Visibility: A well-designed mural added value to my rental property by making it more attractive to potential tenants. A mural helps your property stand out from others in a saturated market.
2. Increased Tenant Retention: My tenants would often rebook, which lowered future client acquisition costs.
3. Increased Social Media Exposure: Giving my holiday renters an amazing mural as a backdrop encouraged them to photograph and share on their social media.
4. Reduced Upgrade Costs: There are many expensive ways to improve a rental property. Instead of spending money to plaster over old brick or refinish hardwood floors, I instead opted to paint large, super graphic murals, which made the most impact for a fraction of the price.
Hand-painted murals increased the value of my short-term rental. With increased visibility, repeat bookings, and greater social media exposure, murals increased my bookings and reduced the need for other unnecessary and costly upgrades.
